Clantech engineering, specialising in the design and commissioning of Hydrogen Service Stations, has counted on IDEA for the design of the largest Hydrogen Station in Spain. In this big project, IDEA will carry out the constructive engineering of the mechanical facilities as well as the structural works.

This hydrogen station will be the largest in Spain with anintegrated green hydrogen plantand will supply renewable hydrogen, produced by electrolysis (10MW) It will come into service this year to initially supply the first eight fuel cell buses that will circulate in Barcelona.

The project has a total investment of 40 million euros and aims to move towards mobility with zero pollutant emissions.

Hydrogen stations are plants where which hydrogen-powered vehicles are refuelled. This gas presents certain benefitscompared to electric vehicles, as refuelling is very fast compared to the refuelling of an electric car, which takes much longer.

Today the use of hydrogen is focused on mobility to solve this problem, but little by little it will also replace other sources of energy and electricity. Projects like this one demonstrate the feasibility of hydrogen as an energy source valid for everyday use, and contribute to achieving the goal set by the Government for 2030.

IDEA, once again, continues growing and adding renewable energy andgreen hydrogen projects. IDEA is becoming an engineering benchmark for the development of Hydrogen projects in the national scene.
