Positive feedback in the presentation of the Master’s Degree in INDUSTRY 4.0 organised by the UPCT and IDEA Ingeniería
Yesterday, Wednesday May 30 at 9 am in Cartagena, the 1st Master’s degree in INDUSTRY 4.0 of the Region of Murcia took place, organised jointly by the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the UPCT and IDEA Ingeniería, was officially presented.
The official presentation of the 1st Master’s degree in INDUSTRY 4.0 was held in the Auditorium of the UPCT (Industrial Building, Cartagena). An event that included interventions by major figures from the Region of Murcia, such as Joaquín Gómez –Manager of INFO of Murcia, as well as top experts on the main themes relating to industry 4.0 or digital transformation such as: Alejandro Díaz, – Rector of the UPCT- , Patricio Franco – Director of the School of Industrial Sciences – , Antonio Guerrero – Director of the Master’s degree – , Emilio Sánchez, – CEO of IDEA Ingeniería -, or Pedro Moreno Cuellar, – Manager of Digital Transformation at IDEA Ingeniería, among others.
Thanks to our innovative character and our commitment to integrating new technologies in Industry, IDEA Ingeniería, decided to organise the 1st Master’s degree in INDUSTRY 4.0 of the Region of Murcia together with the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII),, to provide students with a training fully adapted to the current market, in a sector in full swing and in need of professional experts in digital transformation.
Global industry is currently immersed in a new technological revolution, which means that companies must immediately adapt to all these changes, and so must future and current engineers, who should also be prepared to assume the sound adaptation of these training courses and tools in their professional activity.
For companies to evolve and adapt to this new technological revolution, they need to know the scope and tools that make Industry 4.0 possible, in order to ensure both competitiveness in the global market and their own survival within it.
That is why the learning and application of all the tools and knowledge that will be taught in this master’s degree during the next academic year 2018/2019, are key for students to master the different technologies that are within the scope of Industry 4.0 knowledge and improve the degree of competitiveness and efficiency required by the companies in our environment.
Highlights of the new Master’s Degree in INDUSTRY 4.0
The Master’s degree in Industry 4.0, which can be taken in face-to-face, blended or online formats aims to position itself as a clear benchmark in Spain within academic training in the technologies of the field of knowledge of Industry 4.0, thanks to the combination of a university teaching staff specialised in these tools and professionals from the business world who are experts in these themes.
To do this, this Master’s degree will be taught by the teachers at the School of Industrial Engineering (ETSII) of the UPCT, and through the faculty of other centres that collaborate in teaching, such as the School of Telecommunications Engineering at UPCT, the Faculty of Computer Science at UMU and the Faculty of Business Sciences at UPCT, as well as teachers from the business world, who are experts in these themes, and of course, thanks to the collaboration of the companies within the IDEA Ingeniería group.
The most important themes that will be studied within this Master’s degree in Industry 4.0, include: Big Data, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, Vertical and Horizontal Integration, Autonomous Robotics, Augmented Reality, Additive Manufacturing, Process Simulation, the Internet of Things and the Business Model in Industry 4.0.
