Virtual Employment Fairs, an Alternative in Times of Crisis?
Coronavirus is sweeping all the world events in its path, that’s why IDEA has launched itself into virtual fairs, such as the one organised by employment specialists UNIR.
Are virtual employment fairs or online events an alternative during the crisis? UNIR, la universidad en internet organises two Virtual Fairs per year: the Virtual Employment Fair in Spain which took place from 16 to 22 March 2020, which we attended, and the Virtual Employment Fair in Latin America, which was held in October 2019.
We set up a virtual corporate stand at this trade fair where we featured a large list of job openings, making it possible to register for our job offers, apply spontaneously and contact our recruiters via chat.
Thanks to our participation in this fair, we are currently managing all the registered profiles and reviewing their CVs. Over the next few days we will be contacting them so that they can continue advancing in the selection process and achieve a future job opportunity. The goal of this type of online employment events is to establish a contact between companies looking to fill a job vacancy and talented students looking for a job or professional improvement. This platform will enable students to find interesting job offers available at a wide range of international companies.

It comprises six virtual pavilions, one for each of the Faculties at UNIR, in which candidates can visit company stands by sector and register for the most interesting job offers. A convenient, accessible and very complete opportunity to get in touch with candidates who are actively seeking employment, it is a tool that provides access to a wide variety of professionals at any time and in any place, as it is an online platform. Running parallel to the fair is an Online Conference Congress featuring Human Resources managers and career guidance experts.
This type of fairs, and their increasing popularity, make it possible for companies like ours, which have a department specialised in Recruitment and Outsourcing, to continue to advance in the selection processes and future job opportunities.. But, are virtual fairs here to stay? Are they really an alternative, as Alexandra Gheorghiu states in her article in the online newspaper Dirigentes Digital?
